Decentralized Clinical Trials: Collaboration to Accelerate Adoption
3:00 PM - 3:20 PM
Decentralization of trials became an important study continuity measure during the COVID-19 pandemic. Sponsors, CROs and sites quickly managed to overcome many perceived barriers, creating a path for continued adoption in the future. While some implementation barriers may be addressed within an individual organization (such as training, vendor/partner onboarding, and endpoint selection), other barriers to global adoption stretch beyond any one stakeholder. Collaborations across the research ecosystem have risen to this new challenge, creating opportunities for the research community to go farther together. How might these collaborations help to realize the shared vision of decentralized trial approaches to improve access, experience, and equity in research participation?
